Liberal Comments

Reading comments from Obama supporters after the debate was interesting. You’d never know that Obama was given four more speaking moments than Romney. Here are a few comments:

‘This is what happens when u pick John Kerry as your debate coach’… ‘[Clint] Eastwood’s chair would do a better job moderating this debate. Romney is both candidate and moderator. Has Clinton arrived yet???!’ Michael Moore:

“I don’t think he explained himself very well on the economy. I think he was off his game. I was absolutely stunned tonight,” Ed Schultz

“What was Romney doing? He was winning.” Chris Matthews

How is Obama’s Closing so f**king sad, confused, lame? He choked. He lost. He may even have lost the election.” The Daily Beast’s Andrew Sullivan

“Obama made a lot of great points tonight. Unfortunately, most of them were for Romney … I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Obama looks like he DOES need a teleprompter” Here’s another quote: “Romney looks more confident and energetic – he’s about a minute away from holding Obama down and cutting his hair.”  “Looks like he took my million and spent it all on weed!”Bill Maher

“It’s a classic case of a president kind of showing up and figuring that because he’s president he going to get extra points. It didn’t work that way tonight. And it’s a big wake-up call to the Obama campaign with 34 days in the race,”
Howard Fineman, editorial director of the Huffington Post Media Group

Mitt Romney came in with a chainsaw. He’s trying to talk to a chainsaw.” James Carville

“Someone needs to ask the cut-to-the-chase question: is he enthusiastic about keeping this job, or he is just maybe tired of being president?” Michael Tomasky of the Daily Beast

Gore blamed Obama’s poor performance on the altitude: “Romney did his debate prep in Denver. When you go to 5,000 feet, and you only have a few hours to adjust, I don’t know…”

“I sometimes wondered if we even needed a moderator because we had Mitt Romney,”  Obama spokesperson Stephanie Cutter

Jim Manley, a former aide to Harry Reid said, Romney “did a masterful job of running away from his record, like doing a marathon in 2.5 hour type running.

“Obama didn’t just act professorial, as some are calling him. He acted like a prof with tenure.” Jeff Jarvis

“Obama blew it.” Joy Behar

“Good Lord I need a joint” Whoopi Goldberg

A rebel pundit caught up with supporters of the President at an Obama for America rally in Madison, WI on Oct 4. When asked if it was “fair” that the President was unable to use a teleprompter during the debates, overwhelmingly the supporters said “no.”
